Mark Chassman

Mark Chassman has spent over 20 years building media selling organizations that are disciplined in a system of serving marketer demands to drive revenue. Mark has spent much of his career transforming underperforming media sales teams in broadcast television and online by teaching them how to become skilled at needs focused, solutions-oriented selling.


Prior to joining Middleshift, Mark led selling efforts as Central Region Vice-President of Sales for social media phenomenon Facebook. Key clients included Procter & Gamble, Dell, American Eagle Outfitters and Coca-Cola.


For seven years starting in 1999, Mark lead AOL's Midwest selling and business development efforts as their Regional Vice-President leading a team of 35 people while working with major national advertisers and their agencies to generate $70 million in annual billing.


Before entering the interactive media space, Mark was a Partner and General Manager in Smith Broadcasting, an ownership group of broadcast television stations affiliated with the major television networks. He was responsible for a turnaround of a three station ABC affiliate group in Alaska returning the business to profitability after acquiring it from receivership. Mark began his career with the William Morris Agency and spent five years in talent management in Los Angeles. He holds a business marketing degree from San Diego State University. In 2004 he wrote the "Broadcast Television Selling" chapter in the widely used, Iowa Press text "Media Selling".


Mark lives in Chicago and works nationally.
